                                               Improving Soil Health in Your Garden

Gardeners interested in how soil impacts the health and harvest of their garden can participate in the February 1, 2022, 6:30 pm meeting of the Master Gardener Association of Northwest Michigan. Craig Schaaf will review the basic components of soil and discuss the relationship between plants and soil fungi.  He will provide practical steps to improve the soil in your own garden for healthier, more productive plants.

The virtual meeting is open to the public. The event is free to MGANM members and a $5 donation is suggested for non-members. To register go to MGANM.org. by January 29th. All those who register will receive a link to the meeting via email.

About the Presenter:

Craig Schaaf is the owner of Golden Rule Farm in Kaleva, Michigan. He and his family grow a variety of vegetables for an Italian restaurant in Traverse City. Craig loves to grow all kinds of plants.  He often shares his knowledge of how to nurture soil health, including seminars for Grow Benzie and The Northern Michigan Small Farm Conference.
