Join Jen Shepard and the Master Gardeners Association of Northwest Michigan for an evening Zoom presentation of gardening ideas for the upcoming season.  Jen will give us some insight into preparing and planning our gardens for 2024. And besides introducing us to a few new Proven Winner varieties to try this year, she will also share some of her favorite Proven Winner shrubs, perennials, annuals, herbs and veggies. In addition, she will discuss how to put together beautiful container gardens and combinations to enjoy all season.

About Your Speaker: Jen Shepard

Jen Shepard grew up in Northern Virginia and as her parents were both science teachers and nature lovers, they instilled in Jen the love of plants, animals, nature, and the outdoors. After graduating from Virginia Tech with a degree in Forestry and Wildlife Biology, she worked in native plant landscaping and at garden centers in Georgia and Virginia.  In 2015, Jen and her family moved to Traverse City where she started working at Garden Goods as Nursery Yard Manager and then as General Manager. Her particular interest is in attracting, watching, and gardening for birds and wildlife. She also enjoys music, hiking, kayaking, and cross country skiing.
