Join us for a Zoom presentation with Dr. Robert Schutzki on Tuesday March 4, 2025. Dr. Schutzki will present an overview of pruning techniques for Master Gardeners.  You will have an opportunity to submit questions ahead of time, and Dr. Schutzki will work to incorporate your questions into the presentation.  There will also be time for live questions at the end of the presentation

About Your Speaker: Dr. Robert Schutzki

Dr. Robert Schutzki, BS, MS, PhD, retired from MSU after 38 years of teaching and research.  Dr. Schutzki’s tenure at MSU included teaching courses in landscape design, landscape restoration, native plants, plant identification, sustainability and environmental design, as well as serving on many agricultural and nursery industry committees.  Notably, Dr. Schutzki served as the Director of the Institute of Agricultural Technology from 1998-2002 and as the Curator of the Clarence C. Lewis Landscape Arboretum within the MSU Department of Horticulture.

Dr. Schutzki has also been involved with MSU Extension where he provided professional workshops on landscape design, plant evaluation, plant establishment in the landscape, as well as applied research related to he nursery and landscape industry.  He was involved with the development and implementation of the Michigan Certified Green Industry Professional Program and the Michigan Natural Shoreline Partnership.  Dr. Schutzki continues to work with the nursery and landscape industries and gardening and consumer groups.
